Axel is Managing Director and Chief Investment Strategist for Latin America for BlackRock. With more than 25 years of investment and finance experience, Axel has held several management positions in Chilean financial institutions, including an insurance company, an asset manager, and a pension fund. In addition, he has served as a member of the Advisory Council on Capital Reform for Chile's Finance Ministry as well as the country’s Presidential Committee for Pension Reform in 2006. Axel has an industrial engineering degree from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile and an MBA degree from Stanford University. He was included amongst the 100 most influential Latinos recognized by Bloomberg Linea in 2022 and 2023.
